Welcome to Book 2 Book

This student artwork was created to visually introduce the idea of how our brains connect, “the new to the known.” When we read and write, our knowledge and understanding grows and changes. The pieces fit together and create something new.

Book 2 Book is meant to be a place to make connections—from picture books to novels, across fiction & nonfiction, and between reading and writing. Maybe we will find new books, or new ways to share old books. Please get in touch if you would like to contribute a post to the blog.

These two books were published about 20 years apart. They both drop me into one of those oppressively hot summer days (or weeks!) My mom would tell you I describe that feeling as, “sweaty hot.” I know exactly how these characters feel as they plead for rain, or escape the city seeking a cool breeze. What other books belong in this set?
